Job summary

Beaufort County School District invites applications for the Lead Mentor Teacher position within the District Mentoring Team. The role develops the Induction Program, providing teachers with guidance and formal feedback aligned to state teaching standards.

The Lead Mentor supports 20–30 beginning teachers, conducts formative evaluations based on ADEPT, meets weekly, maintains records, and collaborates with principals and district staff to drive instructional improvement throughout the school

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required.
• Completed mentor training per SC guidelines to become a certified mentor.
• Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in South Carolina at continuing-contract level.
• Thorough knowledge of ADEPT Performance Standards and state academic standards.
• Strong data-driven instructional decision making and technology proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead 20–30 beginning teachers using the SC Mentoring Model.
• Engage in Formative Evaluation with beginning teachers based on ADEPT standards.
• Meet weekly with each beginning teacher.
• Complete all required record keeping prior to deadlines.
• Work with beginning teachers and principals, collaborate with district Mentoring Team.
• Participate in all required professional development activities.
