Job summary

Young World Physical Education seeks a Mentor Teacher to support non-tenured and new-to-district teachers within Calvert County Public Schools. Starting immediately, the mentor will work under the principal, with ongoing training and collaboration with school leaders to align with district goals and student achievement priorities.

Qualifications

• Maryland certificate or eligibility required.
• Minimum of three years of PreK–12 teaching with satisfactory evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Onboard and integrate new/non-tenured teachers.
• Develop collaborative mentoring relationships.
• Provide differentiated mentoring aligned to experience and needs.
• Meet mentees regularly to fulfill mentoring time allocations.
• Model effective instructional strategies and classroom management.
• Analyze student data with mentees to inform planning and improve outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of mentoring activities.
• Participate in mentor training and ongoing professional learning.
• Collaborate with administrators to align mentoring with school goals.
