Job summary

Syneos Health is seeking an experienced medical writer to manage end-to-end writing projects across studies, coordinating activities within and across departments with minimal supervision. You will ensure clear, accurate scientific content and timely delivery.

You will mentor junior writers, ensure compliance with ICH E3 and SOPs, review quality, and support budgeting and client communications while maintaining high standards of quality and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences and relevant regulatory knowledge.
• Proven experience leading medical writing projects and teams.
• Strong editing, formatting, and scientific communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads the clear and accurate completion of medical writing deliverables.
• Manages medical writing activities for individual studies across departments.
• Leads resolution of client comments and ensures on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Coordinates quality and editorial reviews and mentors junior writers.
• Acts as peer reviewer to ensure scientific content and proper formatting.
• Interacts with clients and cross-functional teams to produce deliverables.
• Provides training and consultation; may update internal materials and processes.
• Develops expertise on regulatory guidelines affecting medical writing.
• Monitors budgeted hours and communicates status to leadership.
• Completes required administrative tasks and may travel <25%.
