Qualifications

• ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
• Minimum five years of hospital laboratory work experience required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1461).
• Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as department Section Supervisor or Lead, supervising daily operations.
• Provides consultative services to medical staff as Technical Consultant.
• Oversees performance improvement programs and hospital interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Manages technical and fiscal aspects of the section(s).
• Oversees quality management/assurance programs and regulatory compliance.
• Ensures accuracy of patient results prior to release and reports.
