Job summary

Texas Oncology Kerrville is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join a fast-paced, team-oriented lab. You will perform moderate to high complexity tests, lead quality control, and support timely patient care in a collaborative environment.

The MLS will work 8:30a-5:00p with no nights, weekends, or holidays, contributing to high-quality patient outcomes while maintaining safety and compliance across the Kerrville clinic.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related health care field.
• Associate’s Degree + Four years of related work experience.
• Eight years of related work experience.
• Licensure and certification requirements depend on the state.
• AMT, ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with phlebotomy and specimen collection from patients.
• Performs Chemistry, Hematology and Immunology tests.
• Maintains and operates laboratory equipment and QC procedures.
• Trains other staff in laboratory procedures.
• Acts as primary operator for at least one instrument.
• Follows OSHA and quality assurance guidelines.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related health care field

Associate’s Degree + Four years of related work experience

Eight years of related work experience
