Job description

Under the direction of a Supervisor, the Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Lead CLS) utilizes professional knowledge, skills, and judgment to perform a variety of technical, clerical, physical, and quality assurance functions. The Lead CLS works independently, oversees the day-to-day operation of the division, supports division leadership, and accepts responsibility for special projects/activities as agreed upon with the supervisor and/or manager.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License upon hire or
• California Clinical Chemist Scientist License upon hire or
• California Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License upon hire or
• California Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License upon hire or
• California Clinical Toxicologist Scientist License upon hire or
• California Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist License upon hire or
• California Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist License upon hire or
• California Clinical Hematology Scientist License upon hire or
• California Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist License upon hire or
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist Biochemistry Special License upon hire
• 1 year experience as a CLS.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASCP certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology upon hire.
