Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Lead Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) at Anderson Hospital to perform a full range of laboratory testing and provide high-quality results to physicians. The role supports the Technical Specialist in improving procedures and workflow in a busy lab.

The ideal candidate has a BS in a CLIA-approved program, 2 years of clinical lab experience (5 years preferred), and MLS certification or eligibility (ASCP preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a CLIA approved program (required)
• Certification as MLS (ASCP preferred) or eligible
• Experience in clinical lab required (2 years, 5 years preferred)
• Strong attention to accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced lab environment

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of laboratory testing and provide physicians with quality results
• Assist Technical Specialist with new procedures and policies
• Coordinate proficiency testing and ensure testing meets deadlines
• Support lab operations to improve workflow efficiency
• Maintain compliance with department responsibilities and schedules
