Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) at Anderson Hospital to perform routine laboratory testing of blood, tissues, and other specimens, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.

The role requires a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field, MLS certification or eligibility, and preferably an externship. You will participate in quality control and maintain a safe lab environment as part of a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Clinical Laboratory Science or related CLIA-approved program.
• MLS certification or eligible per ASCP or equivalent.
• Externship completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens according to procedures.
• Determines specimen acceptability via visual inspection or results.
• Recognizes factors affecting measurements and takes action as per protocol.
• Performs quality control and ensures results meet ranges.
• Maintains safe, clean work area and troubleshoots equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
