Job summary

Bethany Christian Services USA LLC is seeking a Lead Medical Coordinator to oversee medical coordination for refugee and migrant health programs across our network. The role emphasizes supervision, policy development, and meeting regulatory requirements.

You will supervise Medical Coordinators, manage confidential health records, coordinate appointments, and ensure accurate billing while maintaining excellent patient service and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in public health or healthcare with care coordination or health administration experience.
• Licensed RN with a bachelor’s degree or higher health-related qualification (PA/NP).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Medical Coordinators and train staff on medical, dental, and public health topics for pediatric, adolescent care and migrant health.
• Develop and maintain policies for confidential health records, triage, emergency response, environmental health and safety, and care coordination.
• Schedule and transport youth to medical appointments within the required timeframe.
• Maintain and update medical files in program Portal.
• Formulate treatment authorization requests for unaccompanied refugee clients.
• Serve as subject matter expert for Point Comfort Underwriters through ongoing consultation.
• Provide resources and reports upon discharge.
• Ensure documentation and filing compliance with agency/state requirements.
• Reconcile and address billing errors to prevent profit loss.
• May participate in after-hours on-call as needed.
• Stay current with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
• Travel periodically to health care facilities to build relationships.
• Essential duties may vary by program/department; may participate in Bethany events.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
