Job summary

South College is seeking a MA Program Director to provide leadership for the Certificate in Medical Assisting programs. The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty to maintain high instructional standards and to advance accreditation efforts.

The position also involves administering the annual budget, recruiting and evaluating faculty, organizing student advising procedures, and coordinating practicum sites while promoting interprofessional education across programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
• Must be credentialed in Medical Assisting (MA).
• MA credential details as described in the posting: either MA credential or RMA eligibility.
• Minimum 3 years in a healthcare facility including ambulatory setting and 160 hours with admin/clinical procedures.
• Minimum of one-year teaching experience in postsecondary or vocational/technical education.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the Certificate in Medical Assisting programs.
• Collaborate with faculty to promote commitment and results; maintain high instructional standards.
• Lead accreditation/self-study efforts; administer annual budget.
• Recruit, hire and evaluate faculty; organize student advising; schedule classes and practicum sites; foster interprofessional opportunities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)

MA credential (NCCA accredited)

RMA credential

Teaching experience in postsecondary/vocational education

Healthcare facility experience (ambulatory care)
