Job summary

UCFS Healthcare is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant - Psychiatry to support psychiatric and primary care teams, ensure quality care, accurate documentation, and welcoming spaces. The role includes supervising Medical Assistants, coordinating schedules, and driving patient-flow improvements.

The position requires CMA certification, a high school diploma, and substantial ambulatory care and psychiatric experience. Travel to UCFS locations may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Certified Medical Assistant credentials required.
• 2 years’ medical assisting, ambulatory care preferred.
• 1 year experience with prior authorizations.
• 1 year in clinical psychiatric services highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, train, support, and cover Medical Assistants under supervision.
• Set Medical Assistant schedules.
• Perform evaluations and improvement plans for staff.
• Prepare patients for examination and record assessment data.
• Monitor patient medication intake and process referrals.
• Coordinate outside referrals to radiology as ordered.
• Maintain flexible schedules to support patients and providers.
