Job summary

The University of Maryland Faculty Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nursing staff in patient care, manage patient flow, take vitals, and administer injections. You will maintain exam and procedure rooms and may supervise other Medical Assistants as needed.

Proficiency with the EMR system is required per SOP. Required certifications include Medical Assistant certification and CPR, and a GED or higher with completion of an accredited MA program or equivalent

Qualifications

• Assists physicians and nursing staff in patient care.
• Completes vitals, injections, and related tasks as required.
• Maintains examination and procedure rooms and supports flow of patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient flow and throughput.
• Take vital signs and administer injections as needed.
• Maintain nurses’ stations and procedure rooms.
• Supervise other Medical Assistants when directed.
