Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support on-site patient care from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The role includes assisting the provider and nursing staff, documenting in the EMR, and handling clerical duties as needed.

The candidate will gather patient history, document vital signs, perform routine clinical tests, and participate in patient education and clinic operations. A completion of an accredited MA program and current BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS certification.
• Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and documents patient history and chief complaint in the EMR.
• Documents vital signs and risk screening per policy.
• Performs routine clinical testing per protocols.
• Assists provider with procedures and prepares patient for examination.
• Stocks/restocks supplies in clinical areas.
• Participates in practice-based process improvement and clinic huddles.

Education
