Job description

The Lead Medical Assistant (MA IV) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Lead Medical Assistant (MA IV) is capable of performing all aspects of the Associate MA (MA I), Medical Assistant (MA II), and Senior MA (MA III) roles. Additionally, the MA IV serves in a leadership role or is highly skilled and trained in multiple complex specialty areas, overseeing ambassadors, change agents, quality champions, and preceptors within the clinic. Ages of Patients Served: Birth and above.

Required Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or
2. Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or
3. Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
4. National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
5. At least 3 years of medical assisting experience in a clinical setting.
6. At least 3 years of experience providing high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion.
7. Six months of working experience in a PSJH clinic within the last 3 years, or 18 months of experience in a Lead MA role in a clinical setting as an alternative.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
