Job summary

CoVolt Power is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the project-management team in delivering mechanical scope for utility-scale solar and BESS installations in Michigan. You will help ensure construction aligns with the owner's contract and maintain safety, quality, and schedule targets.

Reporting to the Project Superintendent, you will inspect mechanical work, coordinate with subcontractors, verify design specs, and produce timely reports.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the solar industry.

Responsibilities

• Champion Signal Energy's CORE Principles on a daily basis.
• Reading and interpreting specifications and plans for all mechanical aspects of the project.
• Examining and inspecting mechanical work along with meeting with sub-contractors to ensure satisfactory job progress.
• Verifying safety and design specifications are met.
• Directs mechanical personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
• Support project, construction management with planning, and utilization of proper means and methods for mechanical activities.
• Analyze situations, identify, and forecast pertinent problems while evaluating realistic options, and recommend/implement appropriate course of action.
• Ensuring all reports and records are complete in an accurate and timely manner.
• Flexible and adaptable with working schedule in order to support project needs.
• Conducting and participating in safety meetings.
