Job summary

Tampa Electric, a TECO Energy company, seeks a Manager, Mechanical System Reliability to lead reliability programs for mechanical assets across Energy Supply. You will direct cross-functional teams, develop maintenance strategies, and drive continuous improvement in asset health and risk management.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background with substantial experience in power generation, condition monitoring, and project leadership in a utility setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited or mutually recognized program
• Florida Professional Engineer’s License (preferred)
• Minimum of 6 years of work experience in mechanical system design, implementation, operation and maintenance
• 5 years of experience with combined cycle generating units (preferred)
• Strong understanding of power generation and delivery engineering principles
• Good project management, time management and communication skills (required)

Responsibilities

• Execute Asset Class Operations programs and Performance Programs with the AM Program Manager
• Develop sustainable fleet programs and mechanisms to determine asset health and risk
• Lead mechanical reliability teams and drive performance monitoring and outage/capital planning
• Oversee PdM program and risk-based inspections using thermography, vibration and acoustic methods
• Support heat rate and efficiency projects and develop plant thermodynamic models
• Coordinate reporting requirements for Asset Management and Loss Control
