Job summary

The Mechanical Project Manager at Petroplan will lead capital and maintenance projects in a refinery environment, guiding fixed and rotating equipment, piping systems, and process unit modifications from concept development through commissioning and startup.

You will ensure on-time delivery within budget, uphold refinery standards and regulatory requirements, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, and construction in a safety‑driven setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of project management experience in heavy industrial facilities.
• Experience leading projects from FEL/FEED through construction and startup.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital and expense projects from conception through startup and closeout.
• Develop project scopes, estimates, schedules, and execution strategies.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, operations, maintenance, and contractor activities.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, specifications, and contractor work packages.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
• Support HAZOP, PSSR, MOC, and process safety initiatives.
• Coordinate commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.
• Provide routine project status updates to management and stakeholders.
