Job summary

IMEG in St. Louis, MO, seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design for mid-complex projects. You will mentor teams, coordinate across disciplines, and support larger projects with senior staff while focusing on energy-efficient design in healthcare-oriented MEP work.

You will manage budgeting, scheduling, and client communication, aligning with IMEG standards and safety practices. A PE license and 5–6 years of experience are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required
• 5 years of experience minimum, 6 preferred, in the building design consulting industry

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for low to moderate complexity projects.
• Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per code and IMEG standards.
• Collaborate with clients to understand needs and gather project requirements.
• Manage project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Document design decisions and monitor progress, fees and percent complete.
• Provide in-process design reviews and implement IMEG quality control processes.
