Job summary

Armstrong World Industries (AWI) is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Project Engineer in Lancaster, PA to lead major capital projects around manufacturing equipment and processes. You will work with engineering, maintenance, operations and external vendors to deliver on cost, schedule, safety and performance goals.

The role requires a strong mechanical engineering foundation, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on experience with equipment installation, commissioning and start-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Experience leading capital projects in manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of equipment installation, commissioning and start-up.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute major capital projects with cost, schedule and safety objectives.
• Specify production equipment and manage vendor design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Support projects from concept to start-up and optimize reliability and performance.
• Mentor engineers and maintenance personnel in standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations and external vendors.
