Job summary

Armstrong World Industries (AWI) is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Project Engineer in Lancaster, PA to lead major capital projects for manufacturing equipment and processes. You will collaborate with manufacturing, Innovation, NPD, plant staff and external vendors to deliver on time, within budget and with safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of project planning and execution experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, operations, external vendors.
• Experience with SAP and other ERP systems; capital project estimating and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute major capital projects, ensuring delivery to cost, schedule, safety and performance objectives.
• Specify production equipment and partner with vendors to design, procure, install and commission assets for new and existing production lines.
• Support capital projects from concept development through installation, commissioning and startup.
• Investigate equipment and process issues, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
