Job summary

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineering IPTL to lead design, development, integration, and testing for Ultra Stack production ramp up at our Tucson site.

You will partner with Operations & Supply Chain Management (OSCM) and Manufacturing Program Management (MPM) to qualify suppliers, mature a robust supplier base, and manage risk while fostering cross‑functional collaboration. Travel ~25% early on; DoD Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mechanical design, analysis, modeling, and hardware integration.
• Experience collaborating with Operations/Supply Chain on supplier development or manufacturing readiness.
• Ability to obtain Raytheon PM Level 6 Certification within 12 months.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
• Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required before start date, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of engineering execution across mechanical design, development, integration, and testing to support Ultra Stack production ramp up activities.
• Coordinate with Program Manager and Chief Engineer to define schedules, budgets, staffing, and milestones.
• Drive mechanical engineering tasks per RTX guidelines (design, modeling, structural/thermal analysis, materials evaluation, mechanical integration).
• Provide technical leadership, direction, and mentorship to mechanical and cross‑functional teams.
• Identify, track, and mitigate technical, schedule, and supplier-related risks; develop risk-reduction plans.
• Serve as the primary engineering interface with internal and external stakeholders.
