Job summary

Bechtel, Chandler, AZ, seeks an experienced mechanical field engineer to lead project engineering activities on Fab 62 for Intel. You will direct construction engineering personnel, interpret drawings, and supervise field verification of materials and equipment.

You will coordinate with design, procurement, QC, and construction teams to ensure compliance with engineering plans, manage cost estimates, and drive schedule performance on a high‑volume, high‑precision semiconductor facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
• Owns technical execution for Mechanical; expert knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Leads mechanical field engineering team; assigns scope and coaches field engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and administrative direction to assigned subordinate construction engineers.
• Coordinates with engineering on constructability and design issues.
• Establishes a Design/Field Engineering working relationship with the Area Engineer and agrees on engineering deliverables.
• Responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.
• Directs the design of temporary construction facilities as required.
• Coordinates interfacing between construction automation plan and project controls program.
• Directs preparation of cost estimates and cost reports.
• Reviews progress against cost and schedule and contributes to project controls documents.
• Develops and enforces construction procedures from SWPPs; coordinates deviations.
• Coordinates with superintendents and subcontractors to plan construction schedules.
• Directs requisitions for field procured materials and equipment; approves as delegated.
• Reviews MRRs and warehousing for correct materials.
• Coordinates subcontract activities to ensure materials and quality meet plans.
