Job summary

Feddon Mechanical LLC is seeking a Mechanical Estimator – Lead Preconstruction Cost-Estimating for commercial mechanical projects. You will drive accurate, complete, and competitive cost estimates for HVAC, piping, and related systems, coordinating with project teams to secure profitable bids.

This role offers an opportunity to manage multiple bids, leverage contemporary estimating software, and contribute to long-term growth within a supportive operations group.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical systems and contract documents.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as FastPIPE and FastDUCT.
• Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication for internal/external partners.
• MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs for HVAC piping, ductwork, and hydronic systems.
• Analyze project documents to identify scope gaps and special requirements.
• Create labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates using estimating software.
• Solicit and review vendor/subcontractor quotations for completeness and competitiveness.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Coordinate with project management and operations during turnover to communicate risks.
