Job summary

Red Cat Holdings is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for its RedCat Aerial division in Torrance, CA to lead design and development of high‑reliability UAS hardware. You will own mechanical and system‑level changes, supervise projects from cradle to grave, and push for scalable manufacturing with rigorous DFMEA and NPI processes.

You will design electro‑mechanical assemblies in SolidWorks, validate through prototyping and testing, and collaborate across engineering teams and vendors to deliver drone

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of industry experience in a design-focused engineering role.
• Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical authority for mechanical and system level changes.
• Lead mechanical heavy projects and consult on new ideas and products.
• Design electro-mechanical systems for UAS in SolidWorks with expert precision.
• Prototype, validate, and prepare designs for scalable manufacturing (DFMEA, NPI, Sustaining).
• Develop tools, fixtures, and automation jigs for manufacturing.
• Identify and qualify new vendors and manufacturing partners.
• Draft assembly procedures, inspection and test procedures, test reports and product requirements documents.
• Engage in the NPI process and build hardware systems.
