Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to advance AP1000 primary components, including the steam generator, at our Cranberry Township, PA headquarters. Hybrid work arrangement with leadership responsibilities and travel to sites supports design and safety goals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience, with strong capability to interpret drawings and calculations and lead projects across a global team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 8+ years of applicable experience.
• Ability to understand and interpret design documents and drawings.
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Author technical documentation for AP1000 primary components (steam generator, pressurizer, PRHR, class sums).
• Work on operating plant replacement steam generator design documentation, including design specifications and calculations.
• Perform calculations and apply the ASME Code to the design and analysis of reactor vessel internals components.
• Evaluate nuclear power plant components using Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Prepare technical presentations and written communications for customers and management.
• Write commercial proposals and prepare cost estimates.
• Occasional travel domestically and internationally to customer and vendor facilities for on-site support.
