Job summary

Salamander Solutions, Inc is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership across product development and manufacturing systems, with a strong emphasis on roll‑reduction mills and thermal‑mechanical forming for advanced downhole heater systems.

The role requires coordination with Houston and Deeside teams, hands-on design and analysis, and driving safety, quality, and efficiency in manufacturing operations on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including significant experience leading or technically directing engineering work, teams, or multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience in energy, oilfield, or heavy manufacturing environments, preferably including metal forming, roll-reduction mills, rotary reducers, tube forming, or hot-work processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, governance, and oversight for mechanical engineering activities across product development, manufacturing equipment, and facility-related projects.
• Review and approve designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, and engineering changes.
• Establish, maintain, and enforce mechanical engineering standards, design practices, CAD conventions, and change control processes.
• Ensure projects are scoped, resourced, reviewed, and executed in alignment with objectives, schedules, and budgets.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and technicians across multiple projects and locations.
• Lead roll-reduction mill design, operation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing systems.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, guides, dies, and related equipment to support efficiency and quality.
• Perform mechanical and thermal analyses to evaluate performance and process improvements.
