Burns & McDonnell, a leader in power engineering, seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join the Power global practice in Detroit. You will oversee front-end planning, preliminary design, and construction administration for coal and natural gas facilities, interfacing with project teams and clients to deliver robust mechanical systems.

The role requires guiding junior staff, developing cost estimates, and ensuring code compliance.

Competenze

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• FE exam completion or PE license preferred.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• 7 years related mechanical experience, EPC project experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Develop cost opinions, work plans, and schedules; evaluate projects with engineering judgment.
• Provide leadership guidance to less experienced staff.
• Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel.
• Lead mechanical design projects for natural gas and coal-fired facilities.
• Air Quality Control Systems and EDL (Effluent Limitation Guideline) management.
• Equipment sizing and application; selection and sizing of pumps, pipes, valves, tanks.
• P&ID’s and piping system development; pipe supports and routing.
• Mechanical equipment lifecycle cost analysis.
• Duties as assigned.
