Job summary

NYC MEP Engineering Firm in NYC is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to take the lead on complex building projects and help mentor a growing mechanical team. The role focuses on directing HVAC design and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure project success.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, a PE is preferred, and familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD. NYC project experience is a plus and the firm offers strong growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• PE preferred.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical HVAC design for commercial, institutional, residential, and/or high-rise projects.
• Manage projects from concept through construction administration.
• Coordinate closely with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, architectural, and structural teams.
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, system design, and technical reviews.
• Oversee junior engineers and designers.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Help drive project schedules, budgets, and overall quality.
