AtkinsRéalis in Henderson, NV seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead mining and industrial projects, support BD activities, and grow the Mechanical Department. You will mentor staff, review designs, and ensure technical excellence while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across North America.

The role requires 15+ years in mining/heavy industry, a US PE license (Nevada preferred or reciprocity), and strong client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in mining and/or heavy industrial projects.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Discipline Lead or Technical Lead.

Responsibilities

• Act as Mechanical Discipline Lead on medium to large mining and industrial projects.
• Support business development activities by contributing to technical proposals, scope definition, project execution strategies, and client presentations to help secure new projects.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, act as a trusted advisor, and identify opportunities for repeat business and new project pursuits.
• Contribute to the growth and strategic development of the Mechanical Department, including resource planning, recruitment, workforce development, and succession planning.
• Promote a business-oriented mindset within the discipline by balancing technical excellence, project delivery performance, client satisfaction, and profitability.
• Oversee design calculations and vendor documentation reviews; supervise engineers, designers, and technicians.
