Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical development and transition to production of next-generation infrared opto-mechanical systems in Hudson, NH. The role requires discipline in precision alignment, cleanliness, and engineering excellence, with opportunities to mentor a team and drive projects to completion.

Responsibilities include prototyping, testing, and integration of electronic components, exchanges with customers, and travel to test sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or MS with extensive design experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in CAD and ability to produce industry-standard drawings.
• Experience with thermal and structural analysis and root-cause investigations.
• Hands-on fabrication and integration of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware from concept generation to real-world use.
• Develop cutting-edge infrared sensors and opto-mechanical components.
• Apply first principles physics to design decisions.
• Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition to production.
• Support hardware demonstrations with customers.
• Contribute to optical system development through design and implementation.
• Execute opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical design work.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage small projects and budgets.
• Travel to test sites as needed.
