Job summary

SSOE's Advanced Technology division seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design for high‑tech facilities, including semiconductor and biotech projects. You will manage mechanical design, BIM coordination, and code compliance, with opportunities across Hillsboro and other U.S.

locations. Ideal candidates hold an ABET‑accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering, a PE license or reciprocity within six months, and strong AutoCAD/Revit experience.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Active PE license in Arizona or reciprocity within six months of hire.
• HVAC design expertise including AHUs, VAV, chillers, boilers, and exhaust.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit for BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Strong communication and leadership to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design development and coordination of piping, HVAC, and building systems.
• Create, review, and stamp drawings and specs in AutoCAD and Revit; ensure code compliance.
• Perform HVAC loads, chiller plant analyses, pump curves; ensure ASHRAE compliance.
• Coordinate BIM clash detection meetings and resolve conflicts via Navisworks.
• Collaborate with PMs to develop mechanical scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Mentor junior engineers and review design quality for client submissions.
