This remote-friendly US role focuses on refurbishment, evaluation, and lifecycle recommendations for industrial gas turbines in data center and power applications. The candidate will lead teardown reviews, component life histories, and refurbishment planning, with a base salary of $140,000–$200,000 and a 15–20% annual bonus; sign-on bonus $10,000–$30,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of gas turbine mechanical engineering experience with heavy-duty and/or aeroderivative turbines.
• Experience interpreting OEM manuals, service bulletins, and repair-vendor criteria.
• Hands-on evaluation of gas turbine components and repair/replacement recommendations.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical reviews of gas turbine teardown and inspection findings (borescopes, NDT, dimensional checks).
• Evaluate and disposition turbine components as serviceable, repairable, or replaceable per OEM docs.
• Review life‑limited parts and component histories, including fired hours and repair records.
• Identify documentation gaps and risks affecting equipment serviceability and life.
• Develop refurbishment work scopes and vendor quotations for compressors, combustion systems, and rotors.
• Assess repair-versus-replacement options based on cost, reliability and schedule.
• Witness inspections and testing at repair facilities and project sites.
• Prepare inspection reports with findings and recommended actions.
• Lead/root‑cause investigations on turbine blades, bearings, and related components.
• Coordinate metallurgical evaluations to determine corrective actions.
• Prepare mechanical specs and review vendor submittals for gas turbine packages.
• Support due diligence for gas turbine assets through records reviews.
• Provide guidance to operations during installation, maintenance and commissioning.
• Develop standardized inspection procedures and fleet-wide documentation.
