Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to oversee plant integration for gas turbine power projects serving data centers and industrial facilities.

You will coordinate interfaces across gas turbines, generators, emissions systems, and balance-of-plant equipment to ensure an integrated system. The role requires 7+ years in power plant systems, ABET-accredited degree, and strong leadership for cross-disciplinary teams, with travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years of power plant systems or process engineering experience with an owner, EPC contractor, OEM, utility, or IPP.
• Working knowledge of gas turbine plant systems, including fuel gas, lubrication, cooling, water or steam injection, and emissions control.
• Experience preparing and reviewing P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and mass and energy balances.
• Familiarity with heat balance software and power plant performance concepts.
• Ability to establish engineering design requirements and coordinate interfaces across multiple technical disciplines.
• Strong technical writing skills, including experience developing design basis documents and system descriptions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical reviews, resolve engineering issues, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the plant and site design basis, including ambient conditions, fuel gas and water supply requirements, auxiliary loads, and operating modes such as simple-cycle, behind-the-meter, and islanded operation.
• Lead the definition and coordination of interfaces among gas turbine packages, generators, emissions control systems, fuel gas systems, cooling systems, water or steam injection, and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Develop and maintain interface control documents, system descriptions, and related engineering documentation.
• Prepare and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and mass and energy balances.
• Establish fuel gas requirements, including pressure, temperature, composition, and conditioning, and coordinate emissions performance requirements for SCR and CO systems.
• Prepare auxiliary load lists, estimate net plant output, and support heat balance calculations and plant performance modeling.
• Review mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering deliverables for consistency with the overall design basis.
• Identify, track, and resolve technical conflicts and interface issues across engineering disciplines.
• Develop plant operating philosophies and coordinate with controls engineers on control narratives, startup and shutdown sequences, and operating requirements.
• Provide input on site layouts and overall plant arrangements.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, engineering consultants, equipment vendors, and internal project teams.
• Provide technical leadership during design reviews and support resolution of complex plant integration challenges.
• Establish consistent systems engineering standards, documentation practices, and design review processes across projects.
