Job summary

Gradian is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced thermal management solutions for high-performance data center systems. This senior engineer role requires a strong thermodynamics background, hands-on chilled-water design experience, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

The role is primarily remote with preference for candidates near the Minneapolis metro area and up to 25% travel to client sites, offices, and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in thermal system design and analysis.
• Strong foundations in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and technical development of chilled water and heat transfer solutions for data center and high-density applications.
• Provide technical guidance to shape Gradian technology, products and markets.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and technical staff to achieve project goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development.
