Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of automated manufacturing equipment across our facilities. You will develop system-level designs, run simulations, and manage 3D models and BOMs, collaborating with electrical, controls, and robotics teams.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 12+ years in automation or robotics, and strong NX/AutoCAD proficiency to deliver end-to-end equipment solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 12+ years in mechanical design with automation or robotics focus.
• Extensive 3D CAD experience (NX) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical components used in automation (actuators, gears, bearings).
• Experience with FEA, motion studies, and system-level simulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of automated manufacturing equipment from concept to handover.
• Develop system-level designs, simulations, and studies to define equipment requirements.
• Perform simulations for robotic systems, reach studies, and architecture development.
• Design and integrate fixtures, EOAT, and safety guarding for automation.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs; oversee prototype fabrication and testing.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during design, commissioning, and rollout.
