Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design for advanced manufacturing facilities infrastructure. You will guide from concept through full production, drive design decisions, and shepherd projects to construction readiness while collaborating with internal teams and external EPC contractors.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license

Responsibilities

Build and lead the mechanical team to execute all aspects of the mechanical design process
Oversee the complete mechanical design process, guiding concept evaluations and final decisions for construction drawings
Address RFIs and resolve design changes during construction
Collaborate with external Engineering, Procurement, and Construction firms to verify designs align with standards
Mentor junior engineers and provide growth opportunities
Deliver updates at 30/60/90/IFC milestone reviews with stakeholders
Provide quantity take-offs and cost estimates within deadlines
Create design packages including basis of design documents and construction drawings

Skills

PE license

12+ years experience

Industrial facilities experience

Revit/Navisworks proficiency

Education
