We're building revolutionary robotic systems that combine cutting-edge AI, sophisticated control systems, and advanced mechanical design to create adaptable automation solutions capable of working safely alongside humans in dynamic environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of robotics and automation at an unprecedented scale, working with world-class teams pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotic manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction.

We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for advanced manufacturing facilities infrastructure. This role drives the development of new production facilities, delivering scale and efficiency in manufacturing. If you thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy solving complex challenges, this is your opportunity to help shape the future of advanced manufacturing.

In this role, you'll serve as the Senior Mechanical Engineer, guiding the design and engineering work that supports infrastructure construction, from initial concept through full production.

Key job responsibilities
  • Oversee the complete mechanical design process, guiding concept evaluations and final decisions that result in fully developed construction drawings ready for permitting and construction. This responsibility spans both wet systems for cooling water and dry systems for air distribution.
  • Address RFIs and resolve design changes during construction.
  • Collaborate with external Engineering, Procurement, and Construction firms throughout bid and project execution phases to verify that all designs and specifications align with our Engineering Standards. Lead and support both internal teams and third-party engineers to maintain project quality and compliance.
  • Proactively share project requirements, updates, and status with both internal and external teams to keep everyone aligned. Guide and develop junior engineers through hands‑on mentorship and professional growth opportunities.
  • Deliver comprehensive updates on design concepts and project progress during structured milestone reviews at the 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC stages, engaging stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Deliver quantity take-offs and cost estimates for projects within tight deadlines while applying core engineering principles and a comprehensive mechanical engineering toolkit to solve complex technical challenges. This drives the creation of detailed designs for diverse mechanical and process systems.
  • Create comprehensive design packages including detailed basis of design documents, sequence of operations, and contract‑ready construction drawings to guide accurate project execution and stakeholder alignment.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years of professional experience designing and constructing mechanical systems for large-scale manufacturing and industrial applications.
  • Professional design experience across a broad range of project types, including industrial cooling tower systems, chiller plants, boiler plants, office environments, advanced manufacturing facilities, and industrial applications.
  • Deep knowledge of mechanical systems including, but not limited to: Dehumidification Units, Air Scrubbers, Dust Collectors, Heat Exchangers (shell/tube, plate/frame, brazed fin), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Compressors, process gas/fluid systems, Air Handling Units, Terminal Units, Fans/Blowers, Control Valves and Instrumentation, Hazardous Exhaust Systems, and Heat Recovery Systems.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including ICC codes (Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Energy Conservation, Fuel Gas, Fire), ASHRAE guidelines, SMACNA specifications, NFPA standards, and relevant ASME and ANSI codes.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Revizto, and Navisworks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience delivering mechanical designs through all milestone review stages for large capital construction projects.
  • Experience collaborating with external EPC firms across bid and project execution phases.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Experience producing quantity take-offs and cost estimates under tight deadlines.
