Job summary

NEP Group seeks a senior Mechanical Design leader to drive the design of broadcast and production equipment at NEP’s Systems Integration facility. You will head the team, develop layouts for mobile units, Fly Pack and Studio systems, and ensure designs meet mechanical, electrical and broadcast requirements.

Requires 5+ years' experience, AutoCAD proficiency, and ability to travel to site locations. You will collaborate with design, project management, and fabrication teams to keep projects on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Design, or related field; education plus experience considered.
• 5+ years of industry related experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle design for mobile television facilities including structural engineering, power systems and HVAC.
• AutoCAD shop drawings for consoles, cabinetry, racking systems and other mechanical systems.
• Broadcast technology knowledge and production terminology.
• Project planning within tight deadlines and cost-efficient execution.
• Acoustical design principles for Audio room design.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Vault, Autodesk CFD, MS Office, and 3D printing tools.
• Travel to various site locations during projects/installations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Design team in designing broadcast and production equipment.
• Design and develop facilities/systems, including trailer, Fly Pack, and Studio systems layouts.
• Oversee assembly, fabrication, and prototype tests.
• Assist in budgets and client proposals for projects.
• Provide training to employees, freelancers, and apprentices.
• Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for timely deliveries.
• Consult clients and NEP staff on mechanical issues.
• Coordinate with Design team, Project Manager, and other personnel to maintain schedule.
