Job summary

NEP Group Inc. seeks a senior Mechanical Design lead to drive the design of broadcast and production equipment at our Systems Integration facility. You will specialize in mechanical systems for mobile TV units, Fly Pack and Studio setups, shaping layouts, interiors, materials, and finishes.

You will oversee both design and fabrication activities, mentor staff, and collaborate with vendors to meet schedules and budgets while ensuring technical excellence across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of industry related experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle design for mobile television facilities including structural engineering, power systems and HVAC.
• Ability to design and produce detailed design and shop drawings in AutoCAD for consoles, cabinetry, racking systems, power systems and other mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of broadcast technology, facilities, and production terminology.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for broadcast and production equipment at NEP’s facility.
• Design and develop facilities/systems with emphasis on mobile units, fly packs, and studio systems.
• Oversee assembly, fabrication and testing of prototypes and equipment.
• Develop budgets and client proposals for projects.
• Provide training on fabrication and installation techniques to staff and contractors.
• Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of items.
• Serve as a mechanical consultant to clients and NEP staff.
• Work with Design team, Project Manager, Coordinator and others to keep projects on schedule.
