Job summary

Baker Hughes in Houston is seeking a Principal Engineer for Lower Completions to lead design and analysis of ICDs, Sand Control, MST systems, and barrier valves. You will perform 3D CAD, drive qualification tests, support global field operations, and manage design stages from concept to validation.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 10+ years of design experience; you will collaborate across product lines worldwide and contribute to product development and sustaining activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering/engineering technology or equivalent.
10+ years of design engineering or sustaining engineering experience.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
SolidWorks CAD experience.
Ability to work hands-on in a test lab and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

Execute engineering work for Lower Completions products (ICDs, Sand Control Screens, Packers, MST Systems, Barrier Valves).
Perform 3D CAD design, layouts, calculations, manufacturing drawings, tolerances studies.
Conduct component and system analysis to identify stresses and risks.
Lead design reviews to iterate and improve products.
Design qualification testing fixtures and detailed test procedures.
Assist assembly and lab testing of prototypes and draft technical documentation.
Provide technical support to worldwide field operations and plant personnel.
Assist in project planning, time and cost estimates.
Manage design stages from concept to validation.
