Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks an XBAT AVEN Mechanical Design Advanced Lead Engineer to lead the design, procurement, and development of vectoring exhaust nozzle components for the F110 engine. This role requires tackling complex engineering challenges with cross‑functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

You will mentor engineers, drive CAD/FEA activities, ensure manufacturability, and coordinate validation plans for aerospace hardware across Lynn, MA or Evendale, OH sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; master's or PhD preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in mechanical design and analysis in aerospace, power generation, or related high-tech industry.
• GE Aerospace will not sponsor employment visas.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design, analysis, and validation of complex mechanical systems and components including static structures, hinges, flaps, and ancillary hardware.
• Apply advanced engineering principles, simulation tools (FEA/CFD), and materials science to optimize performance, weight, and cost.
• Develop and release drawings for exhaust nozzle hardware ensuring producibility and configuration control.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across disciplines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely development, delivery, and integration of nozzle hardware.
• Develop design verification plans including rig/engine test support, instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks across the product lifecycle using structured design methods.
• Present designs and results to stakeholders and regulatory representatives as required.
• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, and airworthiness or program-specific compliance.
