Job summary

Ashton North LLC in Manassas, Virginia, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Assembly Technician to lead a hands-on crew installing prefabricated containment assemblies inside a new data center. You will guide three to five technicians through daily pre-task plans, install anchors, land and bolt modules, fit trays and doors, and use calibrated torque tools while reporting progress to field leadership.

Requirements: 5+ years installing structural or mechanical assemblies and 1+ year leading a crew;

Lead Mechanical Assembly Technician

Manassas, Virginia|On site|Contract|$48–$55 per hour

Lead a hands-on crew installing prefabricated containment assemblies inside a new data center.

What you will do

• Guide three to five technicians through daily pre-task plans and installation to drawings and manufacturer instructions.
• Set and shim leg frames, install anchors, land and bolt modules, and fit trays, panels and doors.
• Use calibrated torque tools, complete crew self-checks and report production and issues to field leadership.

What we are looking for

• 5+ years installing structural or mechanical assemblies and 1+ year leading a crew.
• Experience with post-installed anchors, overhead work and calibrated torque; ability to read installation drawings.
• OSHA 10 Construction, with OSHA 30 preferred; aerial platform and manufacturer anchor training before assignment.

Assignment details

Expected start: Staged starts from late November through January. Project installation is scheduled through May 2027; actual assignment length depends on the project schedule. Expected schedule: five 10-hour shifts per week (50 hours), with 40 regular hours and 10 overtime hours. Overtime beyond 40 hours in a workweek is paid at 1.5 times the base hourly rate.
