Hardy Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Shop Manager / Lead Mechanic to oversee daily shop operations, maintain our fleet, and keep equipment running smoothly.

The role blends hands-on diagnostics with organizing shop workflows, safety compliance, and parts inventory. Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and shop safety standards is preferred. We welcome part-time or full-time hours, with pay negotiable based on experience. Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years mechanical experience on automotive vehicles, forklifts, or heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and small engines.
• Basic welding or metal fabrication is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to manage inventory, track maintenance schedules, and prioritize repair work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on fleet vehicles and forklifts.
• Maintain shop equipment and power tools to prevent downtime.
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Source parts, manage inventory, and track maintenance logs.
• Ensure machinery and vehicles meet safety and OSHA standards.
