Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A in Richmond, VA to lead fleet maintenance and mentor junior mechanics. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose engines and hydraulic systems, and complete major repairs using diagnostic tools and hand tools.

The role requires a HS diploma and 3 years of heavy equipment repair experience, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Strong safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
• Owns a sufficient selection of hand and powered tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for all Herc fleet.
• Operate and test equipment to meet quality standards.
• Perform routine repairs on fleet equipment and trucks.
• Diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
• Conduct major repairs using diagnostic tools and hand tools.
• Assist in training less-experienced mechanics.
• Maintain organized work area and document service reports.
