Job summary

Independent Can Company is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanic for our Conneaut, OH facility to keep equipment running efficiently and safely. You will train teammates, support the maintenance team, and work with leadership to optimize preventive maintenance.

Ideal candidates have manufacturing experience and electrical competency (24-480V), read safety/docs well, and can lift up to 50 lbs while standing long shifts. Join a premier tin can manufacturer with long-standing growth.

Qualifications

• Must have manufacturing experience and electrical competency in 24-480V.
• Familiarity with CMMS like eMaint is preferred.
• Ability to read safety rules and operating/maintenance instructions.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Train and follow company and OSHA safety rules and policies.
• Assist maintenance team in safely producing top quality output.
• Work with Maintenance Manager on PM program effectiveness.
• Recommend machinery modifications and implement changes.
• Ensure lubrication and maintenance logs are complete.
• Keep machines running at target efficiencies.

Lead Mechanic Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Train and follow company and OSHA safety rules and policies
• Assist mechanical team in safely and efficiently producing top quality
• Work with Maintenance Manager on efficient and effective PM program
• Recommend machinery modifications and implement positive equipment changes
• Ensure all required machinery lubrication and preventive maintenance logs are complete
• Make sure machines are running at required efficiencies.

Lead Mechanic Job Requirements

• Reductive troubleshooting and logical reasoningskills
• Must have electrical competencies working with 24-480 volts
• Manufacturing background is a must
• Preferred experience with Microsoft office, experience CMMS system (computerized maintenance system like emaint)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25pounds up to occasionally 50 pounds
• Ability to walk and stand for up to 10 hours per shift
