Qualifications

• Meat department processes and procedures knowledge.
• Excellent cutting skills across sub-primal and retail cuts.
• Knowledge of various meat & seafood cuts and cooking methods.
• Ability to assess product quality and freshness at a glance.
• Able to communicate market information to customers.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (i.e. sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to meet Whole Foods Market quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Delivers courteous customer service and uses suggestive selling.
• Maintains proper prep, storage, rotation, and merchandising for sales.
• Follows health, safety, and Weights & Measures procedures.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures correct signage and pricing.
