Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer in Aguadilla, PR. The role leads MBSE-based development of embedded control systems, defining system-level requirements and architectures for avionics subsystems.

You will model, simulate, validate, and analyze architectures, ensuring compliance with ARP 4754/ARP 4761 while mentoring engineers across teams. You will collaborate with electrical, software, safety, and reliability groups, define traceability, and maintain

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics with 8+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Strong experience communicating in English across all organizational levels (verbal and written).
• Proven experience with modeling, simulation, and system analysis in aerospace or safety-critical domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead MBSE-based development of embedded control systems and define system-level requirements.
• Set modeling standards, review methodologies, and guide MBSE practices.
• Interpret customer specifications to derive system architectures and requirements.
• Perform modeling, simulation, validation, and architectural analysis using MATLAB/Simulink and MBSE tools.
• Ensure traceability and compliance with ARP 4754/ARP 4761 and related standards.
