Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Aguadilla, PR is seeking a hybrid engineer to design, develop, and integrate Collins products within communication systems. You will participate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that meet system performance and operational requirements.

The role includes developing test systems, schematics, and hardware designs, managing technical, cost, and schedule aspects, and mentoring junior engineers. A STEM degree and at least 3–5 years experience are expected; U.S.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 5+ years experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate Collins products within the communication systems and test solutions in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Develop both engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit designs, and analysis.
• Contribute to the completion of all stages of communication system and test system development.
• Manage technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop proven hardware designs that meet system performance and operational specifications.
• Lead and perform circuit design lifecycle activities, including requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, circuit design analysis like Performance, Stability, ESD/Lightning, Decoupling and Signal/Power Integrity analysis, creation of board stack‑up and routing instructions, coordination and review of printed wiring board layout, creation of test plans, root cause analysis, and integration.
