Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration seeks a Staff Systems Engineer (Lead) for on‑site work in Colorado Springs, CO. You will lead a regional SE team, drive model‑based system engineering, and ensure traceable requirements aligned with DoD programs.

You will collaborate with government and industry partners, maintain hands-on technical involvement, and mentor engineers while advancing architecture development and MBSE practices.

Qualifications

• Active Government-issued 8140 certification at IAT II or higher.
• Current in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance.
• Extensive MBSE background with model-based system engineering and requirement traceability.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional SE team of ~30 engineers and mentor junior staff.
• Set technical priorities and conduct rigorous design reviews.
• Stay hands-on with requirements, architecture views, and interface documentation.
• Demonstrate leadership while remaining technically engaged in core tasks.
• Deliver decomposed, traceable requirements linked to architecture.
• Collaborate with government, DoD, and industry partners in a complex environment.
• Prepare clear briefings and requirement traceability reports for leadership.
