Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration seeks a Staff Systems Engineer (Lead) to lead a regional SE team in developing and validating model-based architectures for C2BMC functions. You will decompose high-level needs into traceable requirements and drive interface definitions, using SysML/UML and MBSE tools.

You will collaborate with DoD and industry partners, lead workshops, and ensure rigorous verification and architecture integrity across complex defense programs.

Qualifications

• Extensive MBSE background with hands-on MBSE experience (SysML/UML).
• Lead model-based decomposition and architecture development.
• Capture operator and stakeholder intent in model-based repositories; maintain single source of truth.
• DoD MBSE guidelines awareness and application.
• Lead requirement workshops with customers and SMEs to validate decomposed requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead SE teams in creating, validating, and maintaining model-based system architecture.
• Define subsystem boundaries, interfaces, and data flows for C2BMC functions.
• Perform architecture trade studies using DoDAF/UAF viewpoints.
• Manage traceability from needs to verifications; maintain documentation.
